Life's Too Little

Is it too long

Since you last heard me,

Or have seen me?

Guess what, my dear!

It’s that long since you left,

As we find life

Why on earth

Do you take trouble, to

Circle my backyard?

It is mostly dry,

With grass and dried leaves;

Except the roses,

Those are precious:

Since Krishna loves them roses

That you plucked,

If you know, it is

The most unselfish act of

Nature to offer

You wouldn’t

Insult, and drive over it.

Go! Say your prayers.

For you did wrong,

Tell your atma that you hurt,

What paramatma cares.

He will forgive;

Still, you need to raise a garden,

To rid  the burden:

Of stealing,

Messing, with what’s not your’s:

It is Krishna's.

Leave things

The way they’re supposed

To be, to let be

It is Him

Not us, who created all!

Enjoy, on His name.

Do your duty,

Enjoy the fruit, absolutely:

Knowing Him.

The giver, who blesses

And yet, anytime you do something

That is not meant: for

One would reap

What they sow, in their life

Or the next.

I would forgive,

So would the Lord in Heavens.

For heavens sake!

How about you?

Could you ask for forgiveness?

Or, could you?

Let God help all.

May he give you more life:

To repent, reform.

To You, My Muse!

Writing,

Makes me live

With passion

Writing,

Is like living

Breathing

Air moving in

And out of my lungs

Fills in my spirit

With a love that

 Otherwise, cannot be

Felt through one's

Very core of the

Self one contains within

And shows off

Under the layers

Of ego, self awareness

Or what have you!

It smells of perfume,

Of roses and jasmines

Or marigold

Of holy basil

Gardens of Gardenias

Filling my soul

To a journey

From here to beyond

Holding me by hand

I wish I go back

To rewrite the poem

Called life

And erase all those

Painful moments

Yet life in its entirety

Is a bouquet of

Colorful flowers

Which cannot rid

Of them thorns

Which make

The colorful yet

Passionate life

That we carry

Preciously along

In the beautiful heart

Making life even

More lovingly

Precious,

Like you

And yours!

World Poetry Day 2022

Snow laden mountains

With tall Cedar trees

Small rivulets and

Hot springs of water

Flowing by so fresh

Early in the morning

With sheep grazing

Along the greenery

Cattle munching away

In a nearby Ranch,

Chewing on their fodder

The calves running around

In company of the kitten

Playing in the garden

A dream one can strive for

Left in a rubble as the

Huge excruciating sounds

Of breaking glass and

Buildings and hospitals

Razed to the ground, as

The humongous bombs

Are shelled, in acres of land

With landmines, missiles

And sirens and starvations

Where are you going

Humanity, whither is thine

Path leading you?

I dreamt of paradise

But alas! It is in guise

Causing me hyperventilate

Developing arrhythmia

And space is congested

As the Universe is exploding

In warfare and missiles

Leaving nothing more than

Chaos, calamity, dirt and death.

Wish I had a better picture

To offer on this International

Day of Poetry… Poets..?

Not sure who will close down

Or shed tears, that can

Mean nothing, to anyone…

Wake Up Call

May the world wake up

Into a morning,

Where light is springing

Out in all directions

Breaking the egos

Of darkened souls

Pouring poison in the air

Strength and knowledge

Should be hand in hand

Lest it lands in wrong hands

Oh you bold one,

Show humanity

Life is moving

each one leaves the stage

How long is dark night lasting?

Until the light breaks

drives darkness away

Embedded in this darkness

Forget not the new sprouts

Rising in the form of lives

Everywhere, mankind or plants

Or the entire Universe

Chasing away the darkness

With their orange golden rays

Like the Sun, are the newborns,

With their strength

Holding in their palms!

Take care of your karmas

O ye agnostic

High headed inhuman

How could you not see

How history went?

So does anyone,

In the end it is the good things and deeds,

That help humanity

That matter, for no fault

If one hurts others,

When y’all can be open

What need do you have to fight?

No one would hurt you

If you are just going to take

Good care of your deeds to help humanity

Do not forget how the mountains give rise to plains to

To grow food and be cultivated to feed all

On This Women's Day, Things That Matter to Me Being a Woman

I am writing a note

To myself, on occasion

Of Women’s Day, international

I am not creating

Anything new

Nothing artistic

Only plain talk with

My being, still here.

Am I sad that still,

On this day of the year

In the twenty first century

I am washing vessels

From yesterday and

A day before, may be..

That I am looking like

I  need a lot of personal care

Yet to stay afresh and afloat

Decades since I ever gave a care

To the stuff I could never part

Or does it really matter

That I am alive and living…

Each year, I do the same

Wash every spoon or plate

Lying in the sink from before

And I get tired and would want to rest, but have to just

Restart all over again

And again, everyday as I as m alive

Why bother, you ask

If all I do is toil

As if I know nothing at all

I may not have to say

That I am cleaning them

Bowls and dishes, that

Very kindly soaked and stored

Batter for idlis for some needy

Families that local charities care

And I just did my civic duty

To volunteer as they take care

Of the families visiting the city

Perhaps to take care of them as they may be waiting for a change, that may bring about

A shining new day and spirit

A bright new morning while that night

They do not need to go hungry,

If they can care for the ones at home,

In distress or need or seeking help

So they can wake up strong

In their commitments and

Efforts in creating a stronger bond

With society and people

Knowing that they gave a new life

And hope to live, strive and see others thrive,

As their needs are addressed

As if they are theirs own,

They are giving life even to the ones, who give them their time,

Because life is all about interdependence,

Even if I am discarded, or not,

I still want to belong to someone in helping them heal their heart

Who may need me but then

I need them more to make a reason

For me to claim the air I breath

Every second I stay alive,

As though given and not even

Thinking or thanking

The mother and earth that bore me

I realize, I owe more than

What I can ever offer anyone

Without a blessing from them,

Nothing ever would!

So, all my mothers and mother earth

Have a Happy Women’s  Day!

You make the world possible

Each day and every day hence

Many thanks to you,

My friend, for reading and listening!

Nyla my friend, again,

Thanks for asking me to read and  send,

So these simple things,

Matter to me most,

Because it is them

Not me, that matter most

And give me life,

I do not take time,

They give me life and meaning

To strive, exist and learn and inspire! May your muse always glow in your creation!

Oh yes, my Muse, is all of you,

This beautiful morning or day,

Night or this pleasant evening!

Happy Women’s Day y'all!

Krishnam! Vande Jagadgurum!

I would not want to cry out your name

I would not want to think of you in pain

I know Summers are long and winters are too cold

Yet I know waiting for you beats them bold

I am so longing to see you smile and give me your sweet love

Although I know I am asking for the moon, my love!

Last night I cannot recall what I dreamt

This morning what I ate, I hardly remember

Yet the shining star on the Southwest  horizon,

Gleaming in its blue tint and smiling

Leads me to the bright orange Red one

Looking down at me, and boldly pronouncing its name fighting off the hunter with his Scimitar Orion

And looking at the lovely Pleiades sisters seven, where 'Shadow becomes a shy sky'

Calling itself Aldebaran or the Bull’s eye The Red one

You are the star when my Beloved arrived into this world,

Of Vrishni clan the hero fighting Orion,

His morning Star of birth the giver of wisdom Rohini

I am never going to say His name,

Except that He is charioteer of warrior the valiant Archer, Arjun

Who is revered by the world as Teacher of Parabrahmam!!

Krishna! My Love, Eternal!

My mind goes blank

Every time  I think of you

Who, why, what how

I will not ask you now

Millennia  have passed

Since we were together

I remember You Krishna

As we played by river Yamuna

I remember seeking You

Playing raag Yaman

All night long as the full moon

Was reluctant to return

Yet when the day broke

Cattle were to go to graze

Bright orange Sunshine

Was spreading, with a golden sheen

And the silent waves, on the

Flowing river would want to deflect

Despite the raag raaginia reflecting

In their silky woven dark lace

And the cuckoos and parrots

Uncountable, raising a morning lore

As the beaks raise their pitch

And snakes hid their fangs

Lest you beat their hoods flat

And the small lady bird would

Give sweet smiles as it crawled away

The red velvet bug,

Many a winged friends,

Would learn to shine and go

From flower to flower…

Was it morning already?

O my! had to rush back

And collect hay and stack!

Little did we know we would

Spend eons in waiting

And years go past, with shredding

Of layers of lives as the aged trees

And their bright leaves shedding

Into many a new millennia

The cruel wheels of time

Never ever stopping

Taking with them the lives

Old and young and aged alike

As you keep playing with

Your tender dancing fingers

Over the flute

While the maiden gopis

Plucked on the lute

Winters or summers,

Mornings or nights

How would I count

In the infinite spin of time

Come to me Krishna

Play your songs innumerable

Once more so the light

Reaches everyone’s hearts

As the hearts are over flowing with joy

That only You would fill with Your glory!

Krishna, my sweet tender love

From eons, waiting under this blue sky

As I would forever be, trying to hold,

And keep inside my trembling heart!

Even though every now and then

You sprinkle my soul with

The heavenly rain of Your

Kindness and infinite love,

Allowing us to hold on to

Our dear lives that you let be!
