A Talk With My Being

I like to remember something that we faced

We were young and the knowledge of you to me was like a closed window.

One day I saw something, that I did not understand

My new dress I wore for the first time was not clean.

I noticed it as I went to the rest room and called my grandma

She was there taking care of us as mom went to village.

She had to be at the farm as they were harvesting the new crop

Grand ma asked me to sit alone in a corner, until my mom arrived.

It was a huge restrictions and rules suddenly heaped on me.

Until morning I was happy go lucky,

Although it was supposed to be my maturing,

I hardly realized what it was, since in reality it was premenstrual pink show.

I discovered I didn’t know what you are until later

When I never even knew how to tie a carefree knot..

However, I learnt that being a girl growing up is

A gateway to rules and way is so restricted...

While mom, as always, is my guiding light holding the torch

Of her wisdom within, and ever since despite all,

Is a breakthrough to my being,

Learning to be a woman, that being, learnt

From the light of so many women of care and rare

Showing the path of life,

As I read through their works,

Whether watching them work,

Or reading through them works..

Although we faced umpteen things

We will remember whenever and if ever..

Since time is more precious

As we live each moment,

Together we can weave better moments

Even though we faced different things in our lives
