He loves her very much
When it is dawn, he wakes up
Lets her sleep longer,
Tucks her under the sheets
She sleeps well till
Morning is still morning
For a few more hours
He takes care of meds,
Warm water and tea.
Until recently,
When she said she would want her tea
Just made right
Still most nights
She is alone, in the living room
Until her mind goes blank and hands hurt
Keeps reading or writing or playing woodoko or 2048 Fibonnaci,
as long
As it goes.
Not that she is alone
She finds peace staying by herself
Lest she find it hard to
Get up next morning
Words come out of his
Mouth as if shrapnel
She finds it hard to believe
That her loving mate
Can be so rude, that
She cannot fall asleep
During night, not until late.
Tonight her heart is bleeding so much
Unlike any night she can feel the pounding muscles of flesh like
a machine breathing in and out, as life is nothing more than a mere oscillation,
swinging between life and death.
